Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking apprentices to join our team in Springdale, AR, to gain hands-on HVAC equipment and controls experience on client sites. You’ll participate in Service Technical Academy training, develop troubleshooting skills, and work with mentors to progress professionally.

You will contribute to efficient facility operation, provide recommendations, and prepare quotes while adhering to union training requirements and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Must be a member or willing to join the United Association of Journeymen and Apprentices of the Plumbing and Pipe Fitting Industry of the United States and Canada, AFL-CIO.
• 1+ years of industry experience or experience servicing mechanical systems in HVAC.
• Generally required knowledge includes mechanical HVAC systems, facilities management systems, site preparation, peripheral equipment installation and servicing techniques
• Effective interpersonal skills to properly represent Johnson Controls to customers and other outside contacts in an ethical and professional manner.
• Leadership skills to support activities of Mechanics on non-complex HVAC equipment sites.
• Self-starter with ability to eventually work independently.

Responsibilities

• Apprentices will be trained and will perform on HVAC mechanical equipment and controls on client sites.
• Apprentices will participate in certified training through Service Technical Academy.
• Through coaching and mentorship, apprentices will develop skills to troubleshoot and resolve both technical issues and customer needs.
• You will keep JCI, contractors, and the customer advised of job progress and issues as needed.
• You will meet attendance requirements for required Union training for first year.
• Provide recommendations and solutions to ensure facility is running efficiently to include upselling opportunities.
• Provide quotes to support recommendations and solutions.

What we look for

Preferred

1-2 years of trade school or college in a technical emphasis.

*This is a Bargaining Unit Position.

Pay Range: $24-30 hourly rate determined by the CBA/rate sheet. Benefits are provided through a local labor union aligned with a collective bargaining agreement.
