Job summary

Johnson Controls in Arlington Heights, IL, is seeking technicians for HVAC maintenance and service. You will perform preventive maintenance, repair and installation of mechanical systems, ensuring documentation is completed and service outcomes are delivered to customers.

The role includes providing quotes, recommendations and upsell opportunities during visits. The position requires membership in the Pipe Fitters Local 597, at least 1 year of mechanical experience, and strong interpersonal

Qualifications

• Must be a member or willing to join Pipe Fitters Local 597.
• 1+ years of mechanical experience preferred.
• Effective interpersonal skills to properly represent Johnson Controls to customers.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance, repair, installation and troubleshooting of mechanical HVAC systems.
• Complete required project and service documentation.
• Provide customers with solutions and outcomes at the time of service.
• Provide recommendations, quotes and upsell where appropriate.
• Routine service and inspections including filter changes, lubrication, belt adjustment, cleaning of coils and towers.

What youwill do:

Under general supervision, conducts preventive maintenance, repair, installation, general servicing and troubleshooting of mechanical HVAC systems. Properly completes required project and service documentation.Provide our customers with the highest level of service to solve building inefficiencies and resolveservice-relateditems. As a trusted advisor to ourcustomers,you will provide solutions and outcomes at the time of service.

Howyou willdo it:

Pre-Apprentices are governed by the local unionagreement,and they will perform all pneumatic control systems and mechanical equipment service and all other work coming under this Agreement assigned by the Employer, limited only by their capabilities as determined by the Employer.

Provide recommendations and solutions to ensurefacilityis running efficiently to include upselling opportunities. Provide quotes to support recommendations and solutions.

Routine service and inspections, regardless of size or location of the HVAC mechanical equipment being inspected or serviced, where this work is done as a periodic and routine procedure by the Employer, such as:

• Change and service filters

• Oiling and greasing

• Adjust or replace belts

• Clean cooling towers, coils, evaporator and condenser tubes and general housekeeping

• Mechanical systems operation under contract with customer

• Cleaning and routine maintenance of solar energy equipment

• Indoor Air Quality related work including duct systems and drain pans

Pay Range: $23.80 hourly rate determined by the CBA/rate sheet. The posted salary range reflects the target compensation for this role.
