POSITION: HVAC TRADESPERSON

LOCATION: DISTRICT WIDE

EFFECTIVE DATE: AVAILABLE IMMEDIATELY

COMPENSATION: PER AGREEMENT w/ RTM BUS DRIVERS/CUSTODIAL MAINTENANCE ASSOCIATION:

$41.25/hour (Tradesperson) or $45.25/hour (Master Tradesperson)

Rose Tree Media School District seeks a skilled and dependable HVAC Tradesperson to support the operation, maintenance, and repair of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems throughout District facilities. The HVAC Tradesperson performs preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, and other skilled maintenance work to help ensure that building systems operate safely, efficiently, and reliably while supporting comfortable learning and working environments for students and staff.

The ideal candidate possesses strong technical and mechanical skills, approaches problems with sound judgment and attention to detail, and works effectively both independently and collaboratively. This position requires an individual who takes pride in maintaining critical building systems and understands the important role that reliable facilities play in supporting the daily operation of our schools.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Demonstrated training and experience in HVAC installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair.
• Working knowledge of heating, ventilation, air conditioning, refrigeration systems, and related components.
• Ability to diagnose equipment and system problems and perform appropriate repairs and preventive maintenance.
• Ability to safely and effectively use tools, equipment, and materials associated with HVAC and general maintenance work.
• Ability to read and interpret equipment manuals, specifications, diagrams, and technical information related to assigned work.
• Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions.
• Ability to work independently, prioritize assigned responsibilities, and respond effectively to building and equipment needs.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to interact professionally with staff, administrators, students, contractors, and members of the public.
• Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying temperatures and environmental conditions.
• Ability to perform the physical requirements associated with HVAC and maintenance work.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Current required background clearances.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

The physical demands described are representative of those required to successfully perform the essential functions of this position. The position requires frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, stooping, kneeling, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, and climbing while performing HVAC and maintenance duties throughout District facilities. Duties require the use of hand and power tools and may involve working from ladders or other elevated work areas. The ability to lift and carry tools, equipment, and materials weighing up to 50 pounds is required. Work is performed in both indoor and outdoor environments and may involve exposure to varying temperatures, noise, mechanical equipment, and other conditions associated with HVAC and facility maintenance work.
