Job summary

Baltimore Aircoil Company (BAC) in Dayton, TN is seeking a Braze Operator to join the coil manufacturing team. You will read blueprints, select torch tips and fillers, and braze copper coil components with oxy-fuel torches to ensure strong, leak-free joints.

The role requires six months of brazing/welding experience and meticulous measurement using calipers and related tools, with a safety-first approach to maintain quality and production targets.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Use oxy-fuel torches to braze copper coil components per data charts or work orders.
  • Interpret drawings/blueprints and select torch tips, flux, and brazing alloys.
  • Guide torch and filler rod to brazing temperature and form reliable bonds.
  • Clean, inspect, and re-braze defects; rework joints as needed.
  • Connect hoses to regulator valves and verify setup integrity before lighting.
  • Use calipers and other tools to verify dimensions; maintain 5S and safety standards.
  • Meet daily production targets and keep the cell organized; rotate as needed.

HVAC Thermal Coil Braze OperatorAre you steady with an oxy‑fuel torch? Do you read blueprints with confidence? Can you spot a weak joint from across the bench? If so, you might be the braze operator our coil manufacturing team is looking for.Why BAC?Global leader in evaporative cooling, thermal storage, and heat transfer equipment.Employee-owned culture where your ideas matter and your craftsmanship is valued.Locations: HQ in Jessup, MD; manufacturing in Madera, CA; Milford, DE; and Dayton, TN.What you’ll work onUse single- and dual-tip oxy-fuel torches to braze copper components for coil assemblies.Interpret dimensional drawings/blueprints; select torch tips, flux, and brazing alloys per data charts or work orders.Guide torch and filler rod to bring joints to brazing temperature and create reliable bonds.Clean, inspect, and re-braze any defects; melt and separate joints with a hand torch to correct issues.Connect hoses to regulator valves and verify setup integrity before lighting up.Use calipers, micrometers, protractors, and tape measures to confirm specs; perform required shop math.Assemble mechanical supports using standard work with a high bar for safety and quality.Hit daily production targets, maintain 5S, replenish supplies, and keep the cell organized.Rotate to other departments/workstations as volume shifts; pitch in to help the team win.Complete tasks assigned by your supervisor; take on additional duties as needed.What you bringSix (6) months of related experience brazing/welding with single- and dual-tip oxy-fuel torches.Ability to read prints and use precision measurement tools accurately.Consistent technique, attention to detail, and a safety-first mindset.How we workWe live our values—Earning Trust, Embracing Responsibility, Showing Courage, and Driving Innovation—by doing the right thing in the right way.
