Job summary

Modine Manufacturing Company is seeking an HVAC Test Technician to join our manufacturing team in Jefferson City, MO. The role focuses on testing and validating chillers for data centers, ensuring units meet performance specs before shipment.

Shift is Monday–Friday, 3rd shift 10:00 PM–6:00 AM with mandatory overtime on Saturdays. Base pay is $35.06/hour plus a $5.00 shift/differential for a total of $40.06/hour.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of maintenance experience in manufacturing.
• Electrical and mechanical knowledge of refrigeration and HVAC equipment preferred.
• Computer and report writing skills essential.
• Ability to read blueprints, wiring schematics, work instructions, and safety guidelines.
• Must lift up to 50 lbs and work in various positions for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Perform final product testing on finished HVAC units to verify performance and quality.
• Interpret test results, diagnose failures, and document anomalies and actions.
• Maintain and calibrate testing equipment for accuracy and reliability.
• Collaborate with engineering and quality teams on issues and improvements.
• Support testing plans, build test rigs, and assist with test procedures.

Position Description

We are seeking a skilled HVAC Test Technician to join our manufacturing team in producing high-quality chillers for data centers. The HVAC End-of-Line Test Technician is responsible for performing final product testing and validation to ensure that all units leaving the production line meet performance specifications and quality standards. This role involves using test equipment, diagnostic tools, and technical documentation to verify product functionality and identify defects before shipment.

MON-FRI Hours: 3rd Shift 10:00PM – 6:00AM

Mandatory Overtime on Saturdays Required

Base Pay $35.06 Shift & Differential $5.00 ($40.06/hour)

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct functional tests on finished products based on established procedures
• Interpret test results and diagnose product failures or non-conformance
• Document and report testing results, including anomalies and recommended actions
• Maintain and calibrate testing equipment to ensure accuracy and reliability
• Collaborate with engineering and quality teams to resolve product issues
• Support continuous improvement by identifying recurring test failures or process inefficiencies
• Involvement in quality investigations and structured problem solving using tools and methodologies for problems identified by external customer complaints and internal concerns. Engaging other departments in problem solving investigations.
• Undertaking all aspects of testing requirements, specifically:
• Pressure Test, Evacuation and Charging
• Refrigeration performance testing
• Electrical component testing
• Mechanical/ electrical installations
• Testing design TD at required waterflows and pressure drops
• Building test rigs and assisting with test plans

Required Education & Qualifications

• 1+ years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing industry.
• Electrical and mechanical knowledge of refrigeration and air conditioning equipment preferred.
• Computer and report writing skills essential.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, wiring schematics, work instructions, and safety guidelines.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to perform quality inspections.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and work in various positions (standing bending, kneeling, etc.) for extended periods.
• Knowledge of safety regulations, including proper handling of gases and personal protective equipment (PPE).
• High school diploma of GED required; technical certification in refrigeration/HVAC would be an advantage.
