Job summary

Kids for the Future is seeking a full-time TAB Technician to operate test and balance equipment, review mechanical plans, and adjust HVAC systems to achieve design airflow from diffusers and registers.

You will communicate progress to site management, complete documentation clearly, test circuits and sensors, and interact with Building Automation System software; NEBB/AABC certification and HVAC experience are required.

Qualifications

• Minimum high school diploma, associate degree or equivalent with HVAC certificate preferred.
• NEBB/AABC Technician certification required.
• 1-15 years’ experience in commercial HVAC, Controls, and/or Test & Balance.
• Excellent organizational, verbal and written skills; able to communicate technical material to non-technical audiences.
• MS Office proficiency and comfort with handheld devices (smartphone, iPad).
• Ability to work in diverse project types including industrial environments.
• Background check and drug screening required.

Responsibilities

• Operate test and balance equipment and instrumentation.
• Proactively communicate progress, issues, and status to management as required.
• Adjust fan speeds, pumps, balancing dampers, and HVAC controls to meet design airflow.
• Complete paperwork legibly and concisely.
• Test and repair circuits and sensors per wiring and system specifications.
• Perform initial site inspections and review mechanical plans and specs.
• Adjust dampers and measure final HVAC operating conditions to ensure proper pressure.
• Use software to interact with Building Automation System.
