Job summary

Management & Training Corporation (MTC) operates the Otero County Processing Center in Chaparral, New Mexico. The technician will perform maintenance and repairs of HVAC systems and related facilities, ensuring safe, reliable operation.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent, 3 years of maintenance experience, and HVAC certification in NM or TX. A valid NM/TX driverlicense with acceptable record is required unless waived. Pre-service training is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent, technical training and general knowledge of repair/maintenance, of air conditioning and heating units.
• Three (3) years related experience of maintenance.
• HVAC certification license in the state of New Mexico or Texas is required.
• Must successfully complete pre-service training.
• Valid driver's license in the state of New Mexico or Texas with an acceptable driving record required, unless waived by management.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance and repair of HVAC, electrical systems, heating, ventilating and air conditioning. Recommend contracted assistance when on-facility repair is not possible.
• Perform preventive maintenance checks of building and equipment. Monitor tool inventory.
• Perform routine scheduled checks of air conditioning systems.
• Provide on-call support in emergency situations or equipment breakdowns.
• Requires long periods of walking and standing.
• Requires bending, twisting, climbing ladders and pushing and pulling of a maintenance cart full of tools.
