Job summary

Calallen Independent School District is seeking an HVAC Technician to maintain, repair, and install heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems across district facilities. This nonexempt, full-time role reports to the Director of Maintenance and requires a valid Texas driver’s license.

Responsibilities include diagnosing malfunctions, installing new systems, performing preventive maintenance, coordinating with energy managers, and responding to emergencies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid Texas driver’s license required.
• Knowledge of HVAC repairs, maintenance, and installation techniques.
• Ability to read blueprints, diagrams, schematics and written reference material.
• Ability to perform mathematical calculations and diagnose problems.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair malfunctions in various HVAC systems; calibrate controls.
• Install new HVAC systems and relocate existing ones; fabricate ductwork and piping.
• Maintain preventive maintenance schedules and records.
• Receive and complete work orders; estimate materials and labor.
• Inspect completed work and ensure sites are clean.
• Maintain inventory of district tools and coolant records; support energy goals.
• Assist energy manager with energy conservation surveys.
• Respond to emergency HVAC calls as needed.
