This position is for an HVAC Technician who will maintain, repair, and install a variety of HVAC equipment including roof top air handling units, exhaust systems, chillers, DX units, steam and condensate systems, and water utilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and repair heating, ventilating, and air conditioning equipment and plumbing and utility systems.
- Keep a working knowledge of HVAC control systems to troubleshoot and repair/replace control systems.
- Complete preventative maintenance plans, contribute to and perform process improvements of equipment.
- Respond to emergency equipment breakdowns and maintain system records.
- Make judgments to determine appropriate actions for equipment malfunctions and interventions.
- Work independently and in small or large group situations.
- Demonstrate willingness and ability to learn, teach others, and take ownership for various aspects of the manufacturing process.
- Participate constructively in meetings involving decision making, problem solving, and root cause analysis.
- Provide flexibility to rotate to different assignments and work schedules based on business needs.
Required Skills
- EPA 608 Universal license
- 5 years’ experience in HVAC trade
- Journeymen license or Technical Degree in HVAC
- Technical certificates and certifications in HVAC trade
- Able to troubleshoot problems with refrigerant, electrical, and duct systems on HVAC equipment
- Willing and able to assist in functions such as pipefitting and fire suppression systems
Preferred Skills
- Ability to read electrical schematics and troubleshoot minor electrical failures
- Demonstrate strength in problem solving and troubleshooting
- Knowledge of fire protection systems
- Steam, condensate, and/or pipefitting knowledge
- Knowledge of utility services
- Pump rebuilding knowledge
- Ability to work successfully in a team environment
- Flexibility to work within a team or independently with minimal supervision
- Work experience within an industrial, hospital, or manufacturing environment
- RCM (Reliability Centered Maintenance) experience
