Job summary

Amentum is seeking a HVAC Mechanic to support a government contract based at Naval Submarine Base Kings Bay in Kings Bay, Georgia. The role involves installing, servicing, and repairing environmental-control systems in commercial and industrial settings, using refrigeration theory, pipefitting, and wiring skills.

The candidate must have a high school diploma or HVAC/R diploma, 3 years journeyman experience or a license, valid driver's license, and a CFC Universal Class A.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Diploma from accredited HVAC/R program or 3 years journeyman HVAC/R experience; license accepted.
• Valid state driver's license.
• CFC Refrigerant Universal Class A.
• Strong computer skills for digital controls troubleshooting.
• Knowledge of specialized tools for preventive maintenance and repairs.
• Must wear ASTM F2413-05 safety shoes.
• US Citizenship required for facility credentials/authorization at Kings Bay.

Responsibilities

• Installs, services, and repairs environmental-control systems using refrigeration theory and pipefitting.
• Mounts compressors, condensers, and chillers; fabricates ductwork and installs evaporators.
• Connects motors, controls, and fans to control panels; tests for leaks and proper operation.
• Inspects, replaces, and tests valves, fittings, and pipes; ensures correct pressure and safety standards.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
