Job summary

Oshkosh AeroTech, An Oshkosh Company, is seeking an HVAC Technician to maintain, repair, and inspect HVAC systems in a dynamic airport environment. You will ensure optimal climate control and operational efficiency across facilities.

The role requires a minimum of 5 years in HVAC maintenance, a universal HVAC certification, and the ability to read blueprints. You will work day or night shifts, including weekends, and be eligible for security badge access.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED; HVAC Universal Certification required.
• Minimum 5 years of HVAC maintenance/repair experience, commercial/industrial preferred.
• Able to read blueprints and electrical schematics.
• Valid Driver’s License required.
• Willingness to work day or night shifts including weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance on HVAC systems, including cleaning, lubricating, and replacing parts.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose HVAC system malfunctions and determine repair methods.
• Inspect, monitor, repair, maintain, and operate motors, compressors, pumps, fans, ducts, pipes, thermostats, and switches.
• Enter all maintenance information into CMMS systems and maintain records.
• Adhere to safety programs and work in a diverse, airport environment.

The HVAC Technician is responsible for the maintenance, repair, and inspection of various types of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems in a dynamic airport environment. This role ensures the efficient operation of HVAC systems to maintain optimal climate conditions and operational efficiency.

HVAC Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance on HVAC systems, including cleaning, lubricating, and replacing parts
• Troubleshoot and diagnose HVAC system malfunctions and determine appropriate repair methods
• Inspect, monitor, repair, maintain, and operate mechanical systems, motors, compressors, pumps, fans, ducts, pipes, thermostats, and switches.
• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on required systems; replace filters when necessary.
• Read complex blueprints, piping, sketches, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections; Enter all information into CMMS systems.
• Comply with company safety program and trainings.
• Work productively and cohesively in a diverse and multicultural environment.
• Perform other duties as assigned or needed.

HVAC Minimum Qualifications

• High School diploma, GED, or equivalent preferred
• HVAC Universal Certification required
• Valid Driver’s License required
• Minimum 5 years' of HVAC maintenance and repair experience required, commercial or industrial experience preferred
• Ability to understand blueprints and electrical schematics.
• Demonstrated ability to diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair equipment.
• Basic computer skills
• Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces
• Willingness to work in various weather conditions
• Ability to be badged to work in secure areas of an airport.
• Ability to work Day or Night Shift including weekends and holidays.

Hvac Physical Demands

While performing the duties of HVAC Technician, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands and fingers to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to climb or balance and work in small spaces. Ladder work required. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Ability to work in outside weather conditions on an airport ramp around aircrafts and the confined areas of baggage conveyor systems. Specific vision abilities required by this job include good close proximity vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Good hand / eye coordination is required.

Hvac Work Environment

The work environment is similar to airport operation with vehicular traffic. The employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, high, precarious places, outside weather conditions, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, cold, and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. Employees will work on an airport ramp around aircrafts and around heavy equipment.
