Job summary

Sunbelt Rentals is seeking a Power & HVAC Technician 1 in Virginia Beach to deliver portable HVAC equipment, train customers on safe use, and support shop operations. The role emphasizes professional communication, safety, and accurate paperwork.

You will also assist with equipment cleaning, testing, and on-site installation procedures, and participate in rotating emergency service coverage. Virginia Beach location, full-time.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of experience in a service-related role interacting with customers.
• Must possess basic math skills.
• Must be mechanically inclined.
• Must have a valid driver's license and clean driving record.
• Must be at least 21 years or older.
• Must be able to work some after hours and weekend work during peak times.

Responsibilities

• Communicates professionally with customers, managers and sales engineers to schedule deliveries, pick-ups and service calls.
• Delivers and installs rented HVAC equipment and trains the authorized operator (and/or customer) on the safe use of the equipment.
• Directs customers to sign appropriate paperwork; keeps track of serial numbers.
• Troubleshoots operation, function, specifications and controls of equipment.
• Operates company vehicle safely and follows safety policies.
• Cleans and tests returned equipment and ensures it meets standards.
• Completes paperwork for deliveries, pick-ups and service calls.
• Installs flexible gas hose on propane and natural gas applications.
• Checks gas connections safely and accurately.
• Maintains records of in-stock and rented equipment with managers and sales engineers.
• On-call for emergency service on weekends and evenings.
