The HVAC Technician maintains the safe operating condition of heating and hot-water systems in district facilities. Responsibilities include inspecting, troubleshooting, repairing HVAC components, developing operational procedures, evaluating installations, implementing maintenance programs, and recommending supplies and equipment.
Valid Ohio driver’s license at appointment and maintained thereafter.
Skills in HVAC materials, tools, safety regulations, physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly and over 100 pounds periodically.
U.S. citizen or legal right to work in the U.S.
Must pass State and Federal background checks.
Additional 20% credit for military service with appropriate documentation uploaded or presented at exam.
Current employment with Dayton Public Schools required for promotional credit. Verification by HR. Scores broken by seniority and random selection.
