HVAC Technician License **OR** HVAC Technician in Training License **AND** obtain full license within 12 months of hire.**NOTE:**An HVAC technician in training is authorized to assist in providing heating, ventilating, and cooling work only under the direction and control of a licensed HVAC technician.**PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:****EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE:**1. Two (2) year experience in building maintenance.**CORE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:** The statements described here are intended to describe the general nature of work being performed by people assigned to this position. Ability to be scheduled for work based on operational HVAC needs of the department and facility. 2. Responsible for environmental conditions of the air quality temperature affects the health and wellbeing of patients, visitors, and employees. 3. May supervise tasks of other facility workers by allocation and coordinating workflow, training, and advising in more complex phases of assignments. 4. Provides preventive maintenance and repair work throughout the hospital on HVAC systems. 5. Has access to, and is responsible for, performing assigned duties in locked medication rooms. This position is aware that they are not responsible for medications, and they should report any unsecured medications to a licensed professional. 6. Demonstrates ability to effectively use and instruct in the proper use of test equipment required for building repairs and maintenance (i.e. Volt/Ohm Meter, electronic receptacle analyzer, safety testing equipment, infrared devices, etc.). 7. Demonstrates thorough knowledge of repair procedures and practices related to carpentry, plumbing devices, electrical work, lock cylinders, painting, door hardware, drain blockage, and general building and machine repairs as monitored by managers and team leaders. 8. Demonstrates thorough knowledge, repair, inspection use of hand tools and power tools commonly used in building maintenance and plant repairs. 9. Demonstrates thorough knowledge, repair, use, and the instruction in the use of measuring devices such as rulers, calipers, dividers, micrometers, gauges, etc. 10. Demonstrates basic knowledge and proper compliance procedures of Plant Safety Practices (i.e. safety glasses, S.D.S., lockout, OSHA, NFPA 99, NEC, Hazardous Communication, Infectious Control, and JCAHO standards).**PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:** The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
