Job summary

Putnam City Maintenance is seeking an HVAC Technician in Oklahoma City to service and maintain boilers, chillers, cooling towers, and rooftop systems. The role requires a valid Oklahoma journeyman license, EPA 608, and the ability to lift heavy loads.

You will work on central plants and individual units, and collaborate with the maintenance team on gas piping and system upgrades. The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or GED, strong knowledge of HVAC components, and a commitment to safety

Qualifications

• Requires valid Driver's license and Oklahoma journeyman license.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Must be able to carry ladders and heavy equipment (>100 lbs).
• Licensed in boilers, refrigeration, unlimited air conditioning and heating, gas piping, and sheet metal.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC central plants and units (chillers, cooling towers, boilers, rooftops).
• EPA 608 Refrigeration Certification required.

Responsibilities

• Perform seasonal tear downs and inspections of boilers, chillers, cooling towers, pumps and air handlers.
• Maintain HVAC central plants and individual units including chillers and boilers.
• Work with natural gas piping.
• Monitor monthly chemical analysis of heating and cooling water loops and ensure high-quality program adherence.
• Keep up with new HVAC technology through ongoing education and refresher courses.
• Perform other tasks as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Valid Driver’s license


• Valid State of Oklahoma journeyman’s license


• High School Diploma or GED


• Must be physically able to carry ladders & other tools related to the trade, some may exceed 100 pounds


• Licensed in boilers, refrigeration, unlimited air conditioning, unlimited heating, natural gas piping and sheet metal


• A good working knowledge of HVAC central plants and individual units (chillers, cooling towers, boilers, rooftop package & split systems)


• EPA 608 Certification Refrigeration License


• Demonstrate ability to successfully fulfill assigned responsibilities

REPORTS TO:

HVAC Lead

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Perform seasonal tear downs & inspections of the boilers, chillers, cooling towers, pumps air handlers, etc


• Maintain HVAC central plants and individual units (chillers, cooling towers, boilers, rooftop package & split systems)


• Work with natural gas piping


• Stay informed of our monthly chemical analysis of heating, cooling and condenser water loops and ensure our program is one of top quality


• Be aware of new technology in the HVAC field by up-to-date schooling & refresher classes


• Perform other tasks as assigned

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

Twelve-month, salary to be established by the Board

EVALUATION:

Performance of this job will be evaluated annually in accordance with provisions of the Board’s policy
