Job summary

Flanigan in Fort Lauderdale is seeking a dependable HVAC Technician to perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems. You will respond to service needs and ensure work complies with applicable codes and safety standards.

The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, safety-minded, and able to work independently while following site foremen directions. EPA 608 certification and a valid driver's license are required.

Qualifications

  • Strong understanding of electrical and mechanical systems related to HVAC equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical schematics.
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and repair.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and customer service skills.
  • EPA 608 certification required for refrigerant handling.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

  • Perform regular preventive maintenance on HVAC systems.
  • Clean filters and coils, check refrigerant levels, and inspect ductwork for leaks.
  • Calibrate thermostats and perform seasonal tune-ups.
  • Diagnose and repair HVAC malfunctions.
  • Use tools such as multimeters, refrigerant gauges, and thermal imaging cameras.
  • Perform emergency repairs promptly to restore functionality.
  • Make plumbing, electrical, and mechanical repairs.
  • Maintain the job site by cleaning debris, sweeping work areas, setting up safety barriers, and maintaining an organized, hazard-free worksite.
  • Follow all local building codes, appliance standards, Occupational Health and Safety regulations, and site safety protocols.

Overview
