Job summary

Amherst Operating Services in Cuero, TX is seeking a skilled HVAC technician to join our growing modular housing venture. You will install, service, and maintain HVAC systems in a fast-paced factory setting, ensuring safety and quality standards.

The role requires at least 4 years' experience, HVAC certification, and comfort with MS Office and handheld devices. Overtime may be scheduled as needed; a strong team environment awaits.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• 4+ years experience servicing, troubleshooting, and maintaining HVAC equipment.
• HVAC Certified.
• EPA certification preferred.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and handheld devices (phone, tablet).
• Able to work overtime as scheduled.

• Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with plant and safety procedures, rules, and regulations.
• Prep all materials for duct work.
• Install ducting and flex hoses.
• Install AHU/thermostat and copper lines for condenser unit.

Founded by Amherst, the full-service real estate solutions platform, Amherst StudioBuilt™ homes is an innovative approach to home development that utilizes offsite construction to create new housing supply at scale without sacrificing quality. StudioBuilt homes are constructed at Amherst’s housing studio in Cuero, Texas as well as partner studios across the Southeast and then installed on site. At full capacity, the Cuero facility will create over 250 manufacturing jobs, making Amherst the third largest employer in the area. The StudioBuilt team is comprised of experienced individuals from all trades, working to continuously improve the production process.

We are looking for professionals with experience in residential HVAC systems. The ideal candidate will have at least 4 years’ experience installing and maintaining HVAC systems or working in a component or Modular manufacturing facility installing HVAC. This is the opportunity for you to get in on the ground floor of a new venture in Modular housing in our CUERO TX factory.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with Plant and Safety procedures, rules, and regulations.
• Prep all materials for duct work
• Install ducting and flex hoses
• Install AHU/Thermostat and Copper lines for condenser unit

• Clean and maintain all equipment used
• Train associates on basic HVAC installation and best practices
• Complete other responsibilities as assigned

Required Skills and Experience

• A High School Diploma, GED or equivalent experience
• 4+ years of experience servicing, troubleshooting, and maintaining commercial/Residential HVAC equipment
• HVAC Certified
• EPA certification preferred
• Operating knowledge of Microsoft office and comfortable with hand-held devices (i.e. Smartphone, iPad)
• Able to work overtime as scheduled

Work Environment

• While performing the duties of this job, the Team Member may be exposed to noise, wood products, plastics, lubricants moving mechanical parts and vibration.

Physical Demands

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing.
• The employee must frequently lift and/or move items over 75 pounds.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
