Job summary

Qualifications

  • EPA refrigerant certification is required.
  • AAS or AOS degree in HVAC or related field or military training/journeyman credentials.
  • Experience with maintenance of HVAC systems and controls is expected.

Industrial HVAC Technician

Overview

The Industrial HVAC Technician will ensure the safe and efficient operation of site chillers, cooling towers, and HVAC systems.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Perform routine inspections, predictive maintenance, and repairs on HVAC systems and controls.
  • Develop and implement preventative maintenance plans to minimize downtime and ensure reliability of HVAC equipment.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical issues, malfunctions, and failures in system; analyze and resolve complex problems efficiently and safely.
  • Adhere to all safety guidelines and regulations, including NFPA 70E electrical safety requirements.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment inspections, and repairs; keep up‑to‑date documentation, schematics, and EPA records for refrigerant leaks and equipment disposals.
  • Be on‑call for emergency HVAC repairs and respond promptly to minimize downtime and safety risks.
  • Analyze problems and identify appropriate tools and materials for repair.
  • Follow health and safety standards and comply with building codes.
  • Work at heights in scissor lifts and boom lifts.
  • Operate forklift trucks for material movement and unloading of deliveries.
  • Ensure proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies.
  • Promote continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices.
  • Order materials and parts for job execution.
  • Flex as necessary to support other trades.
  • Use the current CMMS work order system to process and complete job assignments and to track ordering of parts & materials.
  • Access the Building Management System to review HVAC systems and make changes if needed.
  • Perform miscellaneous job‑related duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements
  • ENPA Refrigerant Certification
  • At least one of the following:
    • AAS degree in Mechanical or Plant Utilities Technology
    • AOS degree in HVAC or Construction & Maintenance
    • Military Training Course in a related field
    • Journeyman Credentials
Pay & Benefits

Base pay range: $35.68 – $43.89 per hour, subject to experience. Geographic differential of 110‑130% in certain areas.
