Job summary

ABM Industries is seeking an HVAC Technician to perform maintenance, repairs, and installation of HVAC and refrigeration equipment and controls.

Role includes rounds, preventative maintenance, energy conservation efforts, and safety compliance. 1st shift, 7am–3:30pm with some OT; pay is $35/hour with offers based on experience and location.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED completed.
• 3–4 years of related HVAC experience preferred.
• Technical schooling in HVAC or Mechanical Technology preferred.
• Universal CFC and EPA certifications required.
• Proficient in HVAC concepts and maintenance tasks.
• Ability to read wiring diagrams and blueprints.
• Shift work, overtime and/or on-call duties may be required.
• Able to lift at least 50 lbs and work in confined spaces.
• Demonstrated leadership and written/verbal communication skills.
• Knowledge of CMMS processes and basic documentation.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues in HVAC.
• Perform rounds and preventive/repair maintenance tasks.
• Assist with energy conservation strategy.
• Chiller and boiler experience preferred.

Job Summary

The HVAC Technician performs maintenance, repairs and installation of assigned HVAC and Refrigeration equipment and controls, chilled water systems, boilers, and various other mechanical, electrical and building systems in accordance with client expectations and requests.

Pay

Pay $35 per hour: The pay listed is the hourly range or the hourly rate for this position. A specific offer will vary based on applicant’s experience, skills, abilities, geographic location, and alignment with market data.

Shift

1st shift (Monday - Friday) 7am to 3:30pm with some OT.

Responsibilities

• Install/maintain HVAC systems.
• Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues within HVAC systems
• Perform rounds, reactive, preventative and repair maintenance tasks
• Perform preventative maintenance tasks
• Assist with energy conservation strategy
• Chiller & Boiler Experience preferred
• Ensure adherence to all safety standards as identified by engineering leadership and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards
• Learn, understand, and comply with fire, safety, and other emergency practices
• Keep simple written records of activities performed and complete basic reports
• Maintain good working relations with other staff and client contacts and employees
• Work in confined areas
• Work independently and effectively with minimal supervision while under pressure and within strict time constraints.
• Work assigned shifts and overtime as needed
• Return all work areas to a clean, neat, orderly, and safe condition
• Inform supervisor of any condition observed to be unsafe
• Additional duties as assigned

Qualifications

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
• Minimum of 3-4 years of related experience.
• Technical school graduate in HVAC or Mechanical Technology preferred.
• Universal CFC and EPA certifications required.
• Proficient in all general HVAC concepts.
• Proficient in HVAC maintenance
• Chiller & Boiler Experience preferred
• Knowledgeable of the equipment, tools and materials used in HVAC services and building maintenance.
• Prior experience in troubleshooting with excellence
• May require shift work, overtime and/or on call duties. Stooping, standing, climbing and frequent lifting of a minimum of 50 lbs. of equipment (pump, tools, ladders) and ability to safely install rigging/lifting device.
• Demonstrated ability to effectively lead others
• Able to communicate verbally and in writing
• Knowledge of CMMS software processes and systems.
• Ability to read and understand blueprints and other technical documentation.
• Ability to read and understand wiring diagrams, blueprints, and other technical documentation.
