Job summary

Hutzel is seeking a skilled HVAC Technician to install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair HVAC and refrigeration systems in residential and commercial settings. You’ll work on air conditioning units, boilers, refrigeration equipment, and building automation systems, prioritizing safety and high workmanship standards.

This hands-on role requires problem solving, dependable workmanship, and clear communication with customers.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in HVAC installation, maintenance, or service.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics, technical manuals, and equipment documentation.
  • Comfortable using diagnostic tools and other field service equipment.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Dependable, proactive, and able to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Passion for quality workmanship and taking pride in the finished job.
  • Willingness to continue learning and developing your skills as our company grows.
  • EPA certification for refrigerant handling required; additional electrical or mechanical certifications are a plus.
  • Experience using field service management software a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair HVAC/R systems, including air conditioning units, boilers, refrigeration equipment, and building automation systems while following codes and safety standards.
  • Read and interpret schematics, technical manuals, and equipment documentation to diagnose and repair systems.
  • Perform preventative maintenance and system inspections to keep equipment operating safely and efficiently.
  • Work with refrigerant systems in accordance with EPA regulations and safety requirements.
  • Assist with plumbing and other mechanical work related to HVAC systems and building infrastructure.
  • Communicate clearly with customers, explain repairs and recommendations, and provide a positive experience on every visit.
  • Collaborate with contractors, technicians, and other vendors to coordinate repairs and installations, ensuring minimal disruption to clients.
  • Maintain detailed records of work performed, materials used, and time spent on each job.

About this position

Hutzel is a rapidly growing home services company specializing in HVAC and plumbing. We’re looking for a skilled, dependable, and customer-focused HVAC Technician to join our team.

As an HVAC Technician, you’ll be responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing HVAC and refrigeration systems in residential and commercial settings. You’ll work on a variety of equipment, including air conditioning systems, boilers, refrigeration equipment, and building automation systems, while making sure every job is completed safely and to a high standard.

This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys solving problems, takes pride in quality workmanship, and knows how to provide great service to customers. As Hutzel continues to grow, you’ll have the opportunity to take on new challenges, work with a variety of equipment and specialized tools, and expand your knowledge.

What You'll Do
