Job summary

STV is seeking a Mechanical HVAC Engineer II to support design and coordination of HVAC systems for commercial, educational, healthcare, and institutional buildings. You will work under senior engineers and project managers, taking on increasing responsibility for design, coordination, and project delivery.

The role involves assisting in HVAC system design, performing calculations, preparing drawings, coordinating with disciplines, and participating in field visits and client meetings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 2-5 years of HVAC design experience.
• EIT certification preferred but not required.
• Familiarity with Revit, AutoCAD, and HVAC load calculation software.
• Basic understanding of ASHRAE standards and applicable building codes.
• Strong communication, organization, and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the design of HVAC and mechanical systems for building projects.
• Perform engineering calculations, equipment selection, and system layouts.
• Prepare construction drawings and coordinate designs using Revit and AutoCAD.
• Coordinate with architectural and other engineering disciplines.
• Participate in site visits and field verification of existing conditions.
• Support construction administration by reviewing submittals, responding to RFIs, and assisting with field questions.
• Attend project meetings and communicate effectively with project team members and clients.
• Help prepare technical reports, Basis of Design narratives, and project documentation.
