Job summary

PM2CM, Inc. is seeking a skilled Building Surveyor/Construction Analyst to identify and collect data on systems installed at District sites. The role requires evaluating component life expectancy using construction experience and LAUSD guidance from FCA Unit leadership.

Candidates should have a bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, or Construction Management or 10+ years of relevant on-site experience if no degree is held. Strong collaboration with survey staff is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required in Engineering, Architecture, or Construction Management.
• Candidates without a bachelor’s degree must have at least 10 years of experience; 4 years may substitute for the degree.
• 6+ years of full-time, paid professional experience with on-site construction and coordination with campus admins, faculty and staff.

Responsibilities

• Identify and collect building component data for systems at District sites.
• Enter data using tablets, laptops, or smartphones in various formats.
• Apply construction knowledge to identify systems hidden behind walls, ceilings, and floors.
• Assess overall condition and remaining service life of building components; follow guidance to determine RSL values for LAUSD.
• Collaborate with other trade surveyors to gather quantities, measurements, and boilerplate information.
• Conduct or support ad hoc surveys at District sites and buildings as needed.
• May supervise staff and survey participants as required; serve as a resource to the team.

• Uses various computer formats to enter data (e.g., Tablets, laptops, Smartphones, etc.)
• Uses knowledge and experience in building construction to identify building systems that are hidden behind walls, ceilings and floors.
• Assesses the overall condition and remaining service life of building system components based on construction experience and knowledge. Applies direction and guidance on determining RSL Values specific to LAUSD from FCA Unit leadership.

Requirements

Education

Graduation from a recognized college or university with a bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, or Construction Management.

Candidates without a bachelor’s degree must have at least 10 years of experience. Four of the ten years of experience may be substituted for the required degree on a year-for-year basis.

Experience

6 or more years full time paid professional experience working with on‑site construction. management teams as well as with campus administrators, faculty and staff.
