Job summary

AllStar Heating & Cooling Corp. is seeking an experienced HVAC Service Technician/Installer for residential work in the Chicago area.

You will diagnose, service, and repair heating and cooling systems, perform installations, and maintain high customer service standards. The ideal candidate has 5+ years of hands-on experience, EPA certification, and strong troubleshooting skills, with the ability to work independently and manage time effectively.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years hands-on residential HVAC service and installation experience.
• Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.
• Experience with residential HVAC equipment installation.
• Ability to work independently and make sound decisions in the field.
• Good time management and organizational skills.
• Experience with PTAC equipment is a plus, but willingness to learn and work on PTAC systems is required.
• EPA Certification required; NATE Certification is a plus.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Professional appearance and attitude.
• Comfortable using smartphones, tablets, computers, and HVAC service software.
• Physically capable of performing HVAC service and installation work, including lifting and moving equipment.
• Ability to communicate clearly with customers and coworkers.
• Ability to pass drug testing.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, service, and repair residential heating and air conditioning systems.
• Perform residential HVAC equipment installations, including furnaces, air conditioners, and indoor air quality equipment.
• Service, troubleshoot, repair, and install PTAC equipment.
• Perform preventative maintenance and system inspections.
• Identify equipment problems accurately and complete repairs efficiently without sacrificing quality.
• Provide customers with clear explanations of equipment issues, recommended repairs, and available options.
• Prepare accurate estimates for repairs and equipment replacements.
• Manage daily service calls efficiently and maintain productivity throughout the workday.
• Maintain proper inventory and organization of service vehicle, tools, and equipment.
• Complete service documentation accurately using company software.
• Follow company safety policies and procedures.
• Assist with other company operations as needed.
