Job Title: Service Technician

Description: The Service Technician will work independently or as part of a team responsible for the installation, startup, troubleshooting, commissioning, and servicing of commercial HVACR equipment, systems, and units.

Job Duties:

  1. Serves existing accounts by analyzing work orders; planning daily travel schedules; investigating complaints; conducting tests; resolving problems.
  2. Establishes service by studying system requirements; ordering and gathering components and parts; completing installation; performing acceptance tests.
  3. Maintains rapport with customers by examining complaints; identifying solutions; suggesting improved methods and techniques; recommending system improvements.
  4. Keeps personal equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventive maintenance; calling for repairs.
  5. Documents service and installation actions by completing forms, reports, logs, and records.
  6. Maintains customer confidence by keeping service information confidential.
  7. Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications.
  8. Accomplishes operations and organizational mission by completing related results as needed.

The job description is not exhaustive; the Service Technician will follow and perform other instructions and related duties as set forth by management.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience in HVAC service work, preferably with experience in a service vehicle for an HVAC contractor.
  • VRF experience is preferred.
  • BAS/DDC Controls experience is desired.
  • Must have own tools.
  • Reliable with excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Willing to submit to pre-employment screening, including criminal background check and drug screen.
  • Technician’s Degree or equivalent from a Technical/Trade School with a certificate in HVAC and five (5) years of related work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office software and basic computer skills.

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to handle and lift tools and equipment for air conditioning service work. Regularly required to stand, use hands, handle objects, and talk or hear. Frequently walk, reach, and stoop. Occasionally sit. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds with assistance. Specific vision abilities include close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, and focus adjustment. Reasonable accommodations may be made.
