Job summary

Daikin Applied in Nashville is seeking a Service Technician II - VRV to diagnose, repair, and maintain commercial HVAC systems on-site. You will start with Start Up, Commissioning, and routine maintenance, then grow skills under Lead/Level III guidance.

Expect hands-on troubleshooting, customer education, and warranty activities as part of daily duties. The role requires 3+ years of related HVAC experience, a valid driver's license, and an HVAC certificate.

Qualifications

• 3+ years related experience with increasing responsibility or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• HVAC knowledge across VRV, rooftop units, heat pumps and related equipment.
• EPA certification and valid driver license are required.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, repair and perform preventative maintenance on commercial HVAC equipment.
• Start Up and Commissioning of VRV systems and educate customers on operation and maintenance.
• Train Level I technicians and communicate troubleshooting steps to customers.
• Repair and replacement of defective equipment and components, including coils, belts and filters.
• Inspect equipment to prevent breakdowns and manage warranty service applications.
• Direct junior technicians with hands-on demonstrations and safety practices.
• Record billing, inventory and timekeeping data accurately.
• Provide status updates to customers before, during and after service calls.
• Adhere to OSHA safety policies and internal procedures.

Daikin Applied is seeking a Service Technician II - VRV

In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and performing preventative maintenance for commercial and industrial HVAC equipment. The responsibilities will increase based on exposure to tasks, ability to develop troubleshooting skill set, and consistent and accurate completion of assignments. What you will do

• Perform Start Up and Commissioning: Verify functionality of new VRV systems and repair any malfunctioning equipment. Educate customers on proper use of equipment, maintenance schedule, and operating manual.
• Conduct Technician Training: Communicate your knowledge of VRV systems to other technicians and customers as needed.
• Perform maintenance of commercial HVAC equipment including logging machines, cleaning coils, brushing tubes, replacing filters, replacing belts and proper lubrication
• Repair and replacement of defective equipment, components, or wiring related to fan coils, water source heat pumps, applied air handling units, rooftop units, cooling towers, and condenser tubes
• Maintain and inspect equipment to identify potential problems to prevent premature and unexpected breakdowns or callbacks
• Perform warranty service application by inspecting and testing systems to verify functionality of HVAC equipment and components
• Direct Level I technicians through hands-on demonstrations of all necessary steps to troubleshoot and repair equipment
• Introduction to centrifugal rebuilds from Lead and Level III technicians
• Record and report billing, inventory, timecards, technician tip reports, and other articles as required and in a timely manner
• Interact with customers by offering status reports of service before, during, and after each call Explain technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences
• Participate in available training through regional technician trainers, off-site learning modules, and Daikin Learning. Maintain all required certifications and continue to develop new skill sets
• Ensure standards, policies, procedures, and maintenance of a clean work area are always upheld
• Follow all OSHA and Daikin Applied safety policies and procedures

Minimum Qualifications

• 3+ years related experience with increasing responsibility or equivalent combination of education and experience
• High School Diploma or GED
• Technical school with HVAC certificate or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Valid Driver’s License and acceptable driving record
• Rotational Emergency Call Support as required
• Required license(s) and/or training card as required by local law district
• Work visa sponsorship is not available for this position

Preferred Qualifications

• Commercial HVAC Industry Experience
• EPA approved Universal Technician Certification
• OSHA 10 within 90 days of hire (Daikin provides this training during onboarding process)
• Current first aid / CPR card

The typical hourly pay rate for this position ranges from $27.60 - $44.29 in Tennessee. Individual base pay will depend on a wide range of factors including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
