Job summary

Daikin Applied Americas in Greensboro, NC is seeking an HVAC Service Technician II to service commercial and industrial equipment onsite. You will receive comprehensive training and work on rooftop units, chillers, boilers, and more, with opportunities to advance under experienced mentors.

The role requires a minimum of 3+ years in HVAC, a valid driver’s license, and flexibility for call support. Benefits include company vehicle and ongoing credential maintenance.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Associates degree or HVAC certification preferred.
• 3+ years of HVAC experience required.
• Valid Driver’s License with acceptable driving record.
• Local license/training as required.
• Rotational emergency call support availability.
• EPA Universal Technician certification preferred.
• OSHA 10 certification preferred.
• Current first aid/CPR card preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance of commercial HVAC equipment including logging machines, cleaning coils, brushing tubes, replacing filters, replacing belts and lubrication.
• Repair and replacement of defective equipment and wiring for various HVAC systems.
• Inspect equipment to prevent breakdowns and callbacks.
• Perform warranty service inspections and testing.
• Guide Level I technicians through troubleshooting and repair steps.
• Introduct centrifugal rebuilds with Lead and Level III technicians.
• Record billing, inventory, timecards, and other reports timely.
• Communicate with customers providing status updates before/during/after calls.
• Participate in regional training programs and maintain required certifications.
• Maintain clean work area and follow safety policies.
• Follow OSHA and Daikin safety procedures.

Location: Greensboro, NC - Onsite

This role is potentially eligible for a sign-on bonus.

Your Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance of commercial HVAC equipment including logging machines, cleaning coils, brushing tubes, replacing filters, replacing belts and proper lubrication
• Repair and replacement of defective equipment, components, or wiring related to fan coils, water source heat pumps, applied air handling units, rooftop units, cooling towers, and condenser tubes
• Maintain and inspect equipment to identify potential problems to prevent premature and unexpected breakdowns or callbacks
• Perform warranty service application by inspecting and testing systems to verify functionality of HVAC equipment and components
• Direct Level I technicians through hands-on demonstrations of all necessary steps to troubleshoot and repair equipment
• Introduction to centrifugal rebuilds from Lead and Level III technicians
• Record and report billing, inventory, timecards, technician tip reports, and other articles as required and in a timely manner
• Interact with customers by offering status reports of service before, during, and after each call Explain technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences
• Participate in available training through regional technician trainers, off-site learning modules, and Daikin Learning. Maintain all required certifications and continue to develop new skill sets
• Ensure standards, policies, procedures, and maintenance of a clean work area are always upheld
• Follow all OSHA and Daikin Applied safety policies and procedures

Your Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• Associates Degree or technical school HVAC certification (preferred)
• 3+ years of experience in HVAC or related industry
• Valid Driver’s License and acceptable driving record
• Required license(s) and/or training card as required by local law district
• Rotational Emergency Call Support availability as required
• EPA approved Universal Technician Certification (preferred)
• OSHA 10 certification (preferred)
• Current first aid / CPR card (preferred)

The typical hourly pay rate for this position ranges from $27.60 - $44.29 in NC. The range displayed represents the pay range for all positions in the job grade which this position falls. Individual base pay will depend on a wide range of factors including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
