Job summary

Daikin Applied Americas in Richmond, VA or Virginia Beach, VA is seeking an HVAC Service Technician II to service commercial and industrial equipment and participate in comprehensive training programs.

You will work on rooftop units, chillers, boilers, and other systems, with opportunities to lead junior techs and learn advanced centrifugal rebuilds while maintaining safety standards and certifications.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Associates Degree or HVAC certification preferred.
• 3+ years of experience in HVAC or related industry.
• Valid Driver’s License with acceptable driving record.
• Local license/training as required by law.
• Rotational Emergency Call Support availability as required.
• EPA Universal Technician Certification preferred.
• OSHA 10 certification preferred.
• Current first aid/CPR card preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance of commercial HVAC equipment including logging machines, cleaning coils, brushing tubes, replacing filters and belts.
• Repair and replacement of defective equipment and wiring related to fan coils, heat pumps, AHUs, rooftops, cooling towers and tubes.
• Inspect equipment to identify problems to prevent breakdowns or callbacks.
• Handle warranty service applications by inspecting systems for functionality.
• Direct Level I technicians through hands-on demonstrations for troubleshooting.
• Introduction to centrifugal rebuilds from Leads and Level III technicians.
• Record and report billing, inventory, timecards and related reports timely.
• Explain technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences with customers.
• Participate in available training and maintain required certifications.
• Maintain clean work areas and follow safety policies.
• Follow OSHA and Daikin safety policies and procedures.

Your Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance of commercial HVAC equipment including logging machines, cleaning coils, brushing tubes, replacing filters, replacing belts and proper lubrication
• Repair and replacement of defective equipment, components, or wiring related to fan coils, water source heat pumps, applied air handling units, rooftop units, cooling towers, and condenser tubes
• Maintain and inspect equipment to identify potential problems to prevent premature and unexpected breakdowns or callbacks
• Perform warranty service application by inspecting and testing systems to verify functionality of HVAC equipment and components
• Direct Level I technicians through hands‑on demonstrations of all necessary steps to troubleshoot and repair equipment
• Introduction to centrifugal rebuilds from Lead and Level III technicians
• Record and report billing, inventory, timecards, technician tip reports, and other articles as required and in a timely manner
• Interact with customers by offering status reports of service before, during, and after each call Explain technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences
• Participate in available training through regional technician trainers, off-site learning modules, and Daikin Learning. Maintain all required certifications and continue to develop new skill sets
• Ensure standards, policies, procedures, and maintenance of a clean work area are always upheld
• Follow all OSHA and Daikin Applied safety policies and procedures

Your Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• Associates Degree or technical school HVAC certification (preferred)
• 3+ years of experience in HVAC or related industry
• Valid Driver’s License and acceptable driving record
• Required license(s) and/or training card as required by local law district
• Rotational Emergency Call Support availability as required
• EPA approved Universal Technician Certification (preferred)
• OSHA 10 certification (preferred)
• Current first aid / CPR card (preferred)

The typical hourly pay rate for this position ranges from $27.60 - $44.29 in VA. The range displayed represents the pay range for all positions in the job grade which this position falls. Individual base pay will depend on a wide range of factors including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
