Job summary

Daikin Applied is seeking a full-time Service Technician II in Houston, TX. You will diagnose, repair and perform preventative maintenance on commercial HVAC equipment, including rooftops, chillers, boilers and water-source systems.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, HVAC certificate, EPA Universal Certification, and a valid driver’s license. 3+ years of related experience preferred; OSHA-10 and CPR/First Aid are a plus.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3+ years related experience or equivalent education with increasing responsibility.
• Technical HVAC training or certificate required.
• EPA Universal Technician certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance of commercial HVAC equipment: log, clean coils, replace filters/belts, lubricate.
• Repair/replace defective equipment and wiring in various HVAC systems (roof, water source, AHUs, towers).
• Inspect equipment to identify potential problems to prevent breakdowns/callbacks.
• Assist w/ warranty service by testing and verifying system functionality.
• Guide Level I technicians through troubleshooting and repair steps.
• Intro to centrifugal rebuilds with Lead/Level III technicians.
• Record billing, inventory, timecards, and other reports timely.
• Communicate status to customers before, during, after service.
• Participate in regional/onsite training and maintain required certifications.
• Maintain clean work area and follow OSHA/Daikin safety policies.

In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and performing preventative maintenance for commercial and industrial HVAC equipment. The HVAC equipment you will be servicing includes but is not limited to large and small rooftop units, split systems, chillers, and boilers. *Come be a part of an exciting journey at Daikin Applied, where innovation and excellence drive our* *every endeavor!***Location:**Houston, TX - Onsite**What you will do:*** Perform maintenance of commercial HVAC equipment including logging machines, cleaning coils, brushing tubes, replacing filters, replacing belts and proper lubrication* Repair and replacement of defective equipment, components, or wiring related to fan coils, water source heat pumps, applied air handling units, rooftop units, cooling towers, and condenser tubes* Maintain and inspect equipment to identify potential problems to prevent premature and unexpected breakdowns or callbacks* Perform warranty service application by inspecting and testing systems to verify functionality of HVAC equipment and components* Direct Level I technicians through hands-on demonstrations of all necessary steps to troubleshoot and repair equipment* Introduction to centrifugal rebuilds from Lead and Level III technicians* Record and report billing, inventory, timecards, technician tip reports, and other articles as required and in a timely manner* Interact with customers by offering status reports of service before, during, and after each call Explain technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences* Participate in available training through regional technician trainers, off-site learning modules, and Daikin Learning.
