Job summary

ABACUS Houston is seeking HVAC Service Technicians to join our team. You will service and repair residential HVAC equipment including air conditioners, heat pumps, furnaces and related components.

We offer a competitive salary range of $80,000 to $150,000 per year, comprehensive health, vision and dental plans, company truck, gas card, tolls, dispatch from home, PTO, 401(k) with company match, life insurance, and ongoing training.

Qualifications

• Must have EPA license.
• Registration as a technician with TDLR is required.
• 2 - 5+ years of experience in service, install, maintenance, diagnosing & troubleshooting HVAC issues.
• Mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
• Must be able to follow directions and work independently.
• Type I & II EPA Certification or Universal Certification.
• Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills with a strong desire to exceed customer expectation.

Responsibilities

• Service and repair residential HVAC equipment, including air conditioners, heat pumps, furnaces, and related components.
• Perform routine maintenance and seasonal tune-ups to keep systems running efficiently and reliably.
• Diagnose HVAC issues and make necessary repairs to restore proper operation.
• Replace faulty or worn components such as motors, capacitors, thermostats, and controls.
• Inspect systems during service visits to identify potential issues and recommend preventative maintenance when needed.
• Communicate findings clearly to homeowners and answer basic questions about system operation and care.
• Work closely with dispatch, other technicians, and office staff to complete service calls efficiently.
• Follow all safety procedures and ensure work complies with company standards, manufacturer guidelines, and local codes.
