Trane is seeking a Commercial HVAC Apprentice for our August 2023 Apprenticeship Program. As an Apprentice, you'll be paired with dedicated mentors to learn everything about the HVAC industry. This program is a National Department of Labor Certification Apprenticeship.

Progress through the program will include regular pay increases. Upon successful completion, you'll earn a National Certification and be promoted to HVAC Service Technician.

This 4-year program includes 2,000 hours of on-the-job training and 140+ hours of technical instruction annually. You will earn a full-time wage, with raises every 6 months based on performance.

Responsibilities

From beginner to skilled professional, your training will cover:

• Year 1: HVAC fundamentals, tools, safety, heating, cooling, air distribution, brazing/soldering.
• Year 2: Advanced air flow, compressors, duct systems, air quality, hydronics.
• Year 3: Troubleshooting, electrical, refrigeration, system analysis.
• Year 4: Leadership, energy conservation, system design, industrial refrigeration.

Candidate Requirements

• No industry experience required.
• At least 18 years old at start.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license for 12+ months with minimal violations.
• Strong desire to learn and impact the environment.

Physical and Environmental Requirements

• Ability to operate a vehicle safely.
• Wear safety gear and perform physically demanding tasks.
• Lift up to 40 lbs., work on rooftops, in confined spaces, and in various weather conditions.

This role is designated as Safety Sensitive.

Compensation

Base pay ranges from $23.24 to $36 per hour, depending on experience and location.
