Residential HVAC Service Technician - No On-Call / No Scheduled Weekends

Summary of Job: Responsible for repairs and maintenance of equipment including refrigeration, air conditioning, electric motors, heating units, heat pumps, compressors, light commercial furnaces, burners, fans, economizers, and humidifiers. This role may also involve HVAC installations during peak demand periods.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Check-in with the office for scheduled jobs after completion and at the end of each workday.
  2. Complete all required documentation during and after each task.
  3. Manage time effectively for scheduled jobs.
  4. Communicate with clients at the start and end of each task to keep them informed.
  5. Ensure materials used are properly listed on forms.
  6. Update the office dispatcher or supervisor on your status as needed.
  7. Maintain clear communication with customers throughout the service.
  8. Share experiences and ideas with coworkers to foster learning and improvement.
  9. Suggest process improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  10. Keep workspaces clean and organized, both on-site and in your vehicle.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 3+ years of residential HVAC service experience.
  • EPA certification required.
  • Good driving and background record.
  • Adherence to safety practices and OSHA requirements.

Physical Demands and Working Conditions: Regularly sit, stand, walk, kneel, squat, handle controls, hear, and talk. Must be able to climb ladders, work in hot/cold environments, crawl in small spaces, and lift/move up to 50 lbs. Work outdoors across seasons, with frequent interruptions and changing priorities. Effective communication is essential.
