Job summary

Precision Plumbing, Heating & Air is seeking an HVAC Service Technician to diagnose, repair, and maintain furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, and ventilation systems for homes and businesses. Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• EPA Section 608 certification required.
• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record required.
• 2+ years HVAC service/maintenance/repair experience.
• Technical or trade school certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, repair, and maintain residential and commercial HVAC systems (furnaces, ACs, heat pumps, ventilation).
• Perform system tune-ups, cleanings, and preventive maintenance.
• Test and inspect HVAC equipment for safety and operation.
• Identify repairs and provide accurate recommendations and estimates to customers.
• Complete installations of replacement parts and equipment as needed.
• Communicate diagnoses, options, and pricing to customers.
• Educate customers on maintenance plans and energy-saving solutions.

Precision Plumbing, Heating & Air is a residential plumbing, heating, air conditioning and electrical service company based in Boulder, Colorado and has been in business since 1982. We are looking to bring on several full-time members to be on our team. No experience required, but experience can provide opportunities for higher pay and management opportunities! Paid training included. We have a on-site training facility with paid and/or reimbursement programs for licensing and schooling. This is a professional business. Hourly compensation with bonus incentive included.

As an HVAC Service Technician, you'll diagnose, repair, and maintain furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, and ventilation systems for homes and businesses, checking for things like carbon monoxide and gas leaks along the way to keep every home safe. Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose, repair, and maintain residential and commercial HVAC systems, including furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, and ventilation systems
• Perform system tune-ups, cleanings, and preventive maintenance
• Test and inspect HVAC equipment to ensure proper functioning and safety compliance
• Identify necessary repairs and provide accurate recommendations and estimates to customers
• Complete installations of replacement parts and equipment as needed
• Communicate clearly with customers about diagnoses, repair options, and pricing
• Educate customers on maintenance plans, system efficiency, and energy-saving solutions
• Document service tickets, work orders, and job details for each call
• Collect payments and maintain your truck inventory
• Follow all OSHA, EPA, and company safety guidelines
• Maintain tools, equipment, and your service vehicle in clean, safe working condition

Qualifications / Requirements

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Technical or trade school certification preferred

Experience

• 2+ years of experience in HVAC service, maintenance, or repair
• Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, troubleshooting techniques, and repair procedures

Licenses / Certifications

• EPA Section 608 certification required (certification requirements may vary by state or region)
• Valid driver's license with clean driving record required

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Excellent customer service and communication skills
• Ability to read and interpret technical diagrams and equipment manuals

Physical Demands and Conditions

• Lifting up to 75 lbs, standing, kneeling, climbing ladders, and working in confined spaces
• Regular exposure to dust, heat, and noise from HVAC systems

Work Environment / Travel

• Field-based role requiring travel to residential and commercial customer sites
• Work performed indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions
• May require evenings, weekends, or overtime depending on service demand
