About Us

McVay Plumbing, Heating & Cooling is a family-owned HVAC and plumbing company serving Pittsburgh and surrounding areas. We are expanding and seeking experienced HVAC Service Technicians with at least two years of experience and strong customer service skills. Our pay range is $22 - $34 per hour based on experience.

Key Responsibilities

1. Install, maintain, and repair residential HVAC systems, including heating, cooling, and ventilation equipment.
2. Diagnose and troubleshoot system issues to identify root causes and recommend solutions.
3. Perform regular inspections and preventive maintenance to ensure optimal performance.
4. Replace or repair components such as compressors, motors, fans, thermostats, filters, and ductwork.
5. Coordinate with team members to manage work schedules and prioritize service calls.
6. Communicate professionally with customers, explain repair options, and recommend system improvements.
7. Document service activities accurately, including repairs, parts used, and time spent.
8. Stay updated on industry advancements and emerging technologies to enhance skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Proven experience as a Residential Service HVAC Technician or similar role.
• Valid HVAC technician license/certification.
• Strong diagnostic and repair skills for residential HVAC systems.
• Knowledge of HVAC codes, regulations, and safety standards.
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
• Exceptional customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
• Physical stamina for work in various weather conditions and confined spaces.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
