Job summary
Mountain Heating and Cooling in Bozeman, MT is seeking a dedicated HVAC Service Technician to deliver service, maintenance, and repair for residential systems. The role includes advising customers on repair vs. replacement, educating on IAQ products, and communicating needs to the service manager.
Work schedule is Monday to Friday, 7:30am to 4:30pm. Compensation is $35–$45/hour, with spiffs and a comprehensive benefits package.
Qualifications
- HVAC service experience required and residential focus.
- EPA Universal Certification required.
- Able to read wiring diagrams/blueprints and interpret technical documentation.
- Experience making repair and replacement recommendations.
- Valid driver’s license and insurable driving record.
- High school diploma; HVAC school certificate preferred.
Responsibilities
- Deliver service, maintenance, and repair on residential and some light commercial systems.
- Consult customers on repair and replacement options; forward replacements to the Comfort Advisor.
- Educate customers on indoor air quality products that fit needs.
- Communicate with service manager about parts, training, and specialty needs.

Pay Range: $35.00 to $45.00 per hour, depending on experience + spiffs
Work Schedule: Monday to Friday | 7:30am to 4:30pm
- Delivering Excellent Customer Experiences by providing service, maintenance, and repair on primarily residential and some light commercial heating and air conditioning systems
- Consulting with customers regarding repair and replacement options; Replacement needs are forwarded to the Comfort Advisor/Salesperson
- Educating clients on indoor air quality products that fit customers' needs
- Communicating with the service manager about product needs, training enhancement, or desired specialty training

- 2 + years of HVAC service experience
- Residential Service experience required
- EPA Universal Certification
- Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams and blueprints
- Experience making repair and replacement recommendations
- Low voltage license or commitment to acquire within 2 years of employment
- Advanced customer service skills
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver's license and insurable driving record
- Certificate of completion from an HVAC Technical School is desired
Candidates will be required to pass a background check and drug test upon being given a conditional offer of employment.
