Daikin Applied is seeking a full-time HVAC Service Technician II for Mission Critical environments in the Washington DC area. You will service commercial and industrial HVAC equipment, perform startup, commissioning, preventive maintenance, and repairs, and work with cross-functional teams to integrate systems and controls.

The role includes owner training, detailed reporting, and adherence to safety standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Associates degree or HVAC certification preferred.
• EPA Universal Technician Certification required.
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
• OSHA 10 (required) and OSHA 30 preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform data center field service on HVAC equipment, including startup and commissioning.
• Assist project leaders with data collection and status updates.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams to integrate HVAC with building controls.
• Provide owner training on HVAC operations and maintenance best practices.
• Maintain equipment and perform preventive maintenance, cleaning, and lubrication.
• Troubleshoot, repair, and replace defective components or wiring.
• Record billing, timecards, and related service reports and data.

Come be part of an exciting journey at Daikin Applied, where innovation and excellence drive everything we do!Location: Washington DC / Bowie, MDMission Critical ResponsibilitiesYour Responsibilities:Participate in data center construction projects from equipment delivery inspections, pre-functional testing, equipment startup, and commissioningAssist project leaders with data collection, project status updates, and repair and progress recommendations through consistent communication with stake holdersCollaborate with cross-functional teams and trades on construction projects to integrate HVAC equipment with building controls, balance building air and water systems, and verify proper HVAC sequencing.Participate in Integrated Systems Testing to validate data center SOOs and equipment functionality.Assist project leads and stake holders in completing milestones to maintain projected timelinesPerform owner training on HVAC equipment operations and maintenance best practicesMake recommendations to all stakeholders on methods to increase equipment reliabilityPerform maintenance of commercial HVAC equipment including logging machines, cleaning coils, brushing tubes, replacing filters, replacing belts and proper lubricationRepair and replacement of defective equipment, components, or wiring related to fan coils, water source heat pumps, applied air handling units, rooftop units, cooling towers, and condenser tubesMaintain and inspect equipment to identify potential problems to prevent premature and unexpected breakdowns or callbacksPerform warranty service application by inspecting and testing systems to verify functionality of HVAC equipment and componentsDirect Level I technicians through hands-on demonstrations of all necessary steps to troubleshoot and repair equipmentRecord and report billing, inventory, timecards, technician tip reports, and other articles as required and in a timely mannerInteract with customers by offering status reports of service before, during, and after each call Explain technical information to both technical and non-technical audiencesParticipate in available training through regional technician trainers, off-site learning modules, and Daikin Learning. The range displayed represents the pay range for all positions in the job grade which this position falls. Individual base pay will depend on a wide range of factors including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.Employment is contingent upon successful completion of pre-employment requirements, including verification of employment history, education, background screening, and drug testing where permitted by law.
