Job summary

Ackerman Heating is seeking an experienced HVAC Service Technician to maintain and repair customers’ air quality systems in Colfax, WA. You will diagnose problems, explain costs to customers, and order parts after approval, while ensuring safety and quality in every job.

The role requires on-site work, after-hours flexibility, and proficiency in reading schematics, with a strong emphasis on customer service and safety.

Qualifications

• 10+ year HVAC experience preferred; on-site training available.
• State electrical and gas licensure required: WA Electrical License and Gas fitter license.
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to read schematics and work plans.
• Willingness to work after hours, weekends, holidays.

Responsibilities

• Clean, adjust and repair HVAC systems and perform warranty service.
• Troubleshoot defective HVAC systems and diagnose issues.
• Perform preventative maintenance and emergency repairs.
• Maintain service vehicle and keep logs.
• Provide clear explanations and cost estimates to customers.
• Order parts after customer approval and communicate with supervisor.

Ackerman Heating is looking for a HVAC Service Technician!We are looking to hire a detail-oriented HVAC service technician to maintain and repair our customers’ air quality systems. The HVAC service technician will assist with repairing and calibrating systems, and replacing various components such as transformers, thermostats and compressors. You will diagnose problems, explain these to customers in clear, non-technical terms, relay costs to customers, and offer alternative solutions. You will order and collect parts once customer gives approval, and communicate with supervisor regarding challenges.To ensure success your customer skills should be as good as your technical aptitude, and you need to be well-versed in safety precautions.
