Job description

Position Summary: We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Service Manager to oversee and lead our team of HVAC technicians. This role will be responsible for managing day-to-day operations, ensuring exceptional service delivery, maintaining high standards of safety and quality, and driving operational efficiency. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in HVAC services, along with excellent leadership and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Team Leadership & Supervision:
  2. Lead and manage a team of HVAC technicians to ensure service excellence and high performance.
  3. Schedule and assign work to technicians, ensuring optimal coverage and resource allocation.
  4. Provide ongoing coaching, training, and mentorship to develop technicians’ skills and support their career growth.
  5. Conduct regular performance reviews and provide feedback to meet individual and team objectives.
  6. Service Operations Management:
  7. Oversee daily service calls, including troubleshooting, installation, maintenance, and repair work.
  8. Ensure all service work complies with company standards, local codes, and safety regulations.
  9. Monitor and track service completion, ensuring timeliness, quality, and customer satisfaction.
  10. Handle escalated service issues or customer complaints professionally and effectively.
  11. Customer Relationship Management:
  12. Build and maintain strong relationships with clients to ensure high customer satisfaction and repeat business.
  13. Work closely with clients to understand their needs and provide appropriate solutions.
  14. Address customer concerns promptly and follow up to ensure satisfaction.
  15. Operational Efficiency & Reporting:
  16. Review technician productivity and identify opportunities for improvement.
  17. Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and cost management within service operations.
  18. Maintain accurate records of all service work, including job reports, inventory, and equipment used.
  19. Generate and present performance reports to management.
  20. Safety & Compliance:
  21. Ensure technicians follow safety procedures and company policies.
  22. Conduct safety training and enforce safety protocols on job sites.
  23. Monitor compliance with industry regulations, certifications, and licensing requirements.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years in HVAC services, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
  • Strong technical knowledge of HVAC systems, including troubleshooting, installation, and maintenance.
  • Skills & Abilities:
  • Proven leadership skills to motivate and guide a team.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and professionalism in handling customer issues.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient in service management software, Microsoft Office, and relevant tools.

Education & Certifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Relevant HVAC licenses and certifications as required by local regulations.
  • OSHA 30-hour safety certification required within 90 days.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift and carry heavy tools and equipment.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and kneel for extended periods.
  • Ability to work in various weather conditions and environments.
