Responsibilities

This is an entry-level role for individuals seeking to start their careers in HVAC. NAS employees are valued assets—productive, well-trained, promoted, and well compensated.

The technician supports installation, maintenance, and servicing of commercial HVAC systems.

Duties include:

  • Assisting with preventative maintenance, routine repairs, and calibration post-installation
  • Using technical skills to maintain systems
  • Working collaboratively to share information and workload, ensuring customer satisfaction
  • Adhering to safety protocols daily
  • Performing additional duties as assigned
  • Working overtime, on-call, and weekends as required

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • HVAC trade school graduate with a GPA of 3.5+ and excellent attendance
  • 1+ years in a mechanical support role, some HVAC hands-on experience
  • EPA Certification (Type I & II or Universal)
  • NATE certification is a plus
  • Valid driver’s license with a good driving record
  • Ability to climb ladders
  • Moderate lifting up to 90 pounds
  • Technical aptitude for maintenance, service, and troubleshooting
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Strong electrical and mechanical diagnostic skills
  • Ability to complete repairs and documentation
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
  • Self-motivated and driven to succeed with minimal supervision
  • Willingness to be on call periodically
  • Willing to relocate after training
  • Local travel may be required

Physical Requirements

Technicians install, repair, and maintain commercial rooftop HVAC units, often working independently. Must be able to:

  • Access rooftops via ladders
  • Work at heights
  • Load/unload tools and equipment
  • Lifting occasionally up to 75 lbs.
  • Overhead lifting up to 25 lbs.
  • Push/pull loads up to 150 lbs.
  • Climb ladders to roof height
  • Extend reach overhead repeatedly
  • Manual tandem lifting of up to 125 lbs
