The Residential HVAC Sales Technician is a dual-role position focused on expert HVAC system service and in-home sales consultations. This role involves diagnosing, repairing, and servicing HVAC systems while proactively identifying opportunities to upsell maintenance plans, system upgrades, and replacements. Additionally, the technician will conduct sales consultations, develop proposals, and close deals on HVAC system replacements, ensuring customer satisfaction and long-term business growth.

This position requires strong technical expertise, excellent customer service skills, and a results-driven sales mindset. It offers opportunities for career growth.

Key Responsibilities:

HVAC Service & Repair Duties:

• Diagnose, repair, and service residential HVAC systems, including gas furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, electric furnaces, ductless split systems, humidification/dehumidification units, and electronic air cleaners.
• Evaluate HVAC system functionality post-service and ensure optimal performance.
• Educate customers on system maintenance, providing cost-benefit analyses for repairs and replacements.
• Perform occasional system installations as needed.
• Maintain accurate records of work performed, parts used, truck inventory, and customer discussions.
• Adhere to company safety protocols and industry standards while maintaining a professional image.
  
  

HVAC Sales & Consultation Duties:

• Conduct in-home sales consultations, assess homeowners' HVAC needs, and recommend system upgrades or replacements.
• Prepare estimates and present proposals for new equipment, financing options, and service agreements.
• Proactively identify, contact, and follow up with potential customers to drive sales.
• Maintain a customer satisfaction rate of 95% and a call close rate of 90%.
• Meet or exceed average service ticket and average replacement ticket KPIs and monthly revenue goals.
• Sell and renew service agreements to new and existing customers.
• Utilize the One Hour Sales System on every call to maximize efficiency and customer satisfaction.
• Ensure all paperwork is completed accurately and promptly, including financing agreements and cash collections.
• Maintain an average sale price as set by company targets.
  
  

Qualifications:

• Minimum 5 years of experience in residential HVAC service, including troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing HVAC systems.
• 3+ years of in-home sales experience, with a strong track record in service agreement and equipment sales.
• Strong relationship-building skills and a customer-first approach.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
• Proven ability to meet service and sales targets/KPIs.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.
• A high school diploma or GED is required; an associate degree in a related field is preferred.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
  
  

Preferred Qualifications:

• EPA
• TDLR
• NATE Certification.
• OSHA Certification
• Bilingual in English and Spanish.
  
  

Physical & Work Environment Requirements:

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., bend, kneel, climb ladders, and work in confined spaces.
• Comfortable working in extreme weather conditions.
• Extended work hours may be required, including evenings and weekends.
• Maintain company vehicle in clean, professional condition.
