Job summary

Tremco's design engineering team seeks a Design Engineer to assess project requirements, collect field data, and draft HVAC restoration solutions. You will determine design scope, evaluate existing systems, and coordinate with owner/facility staff to ensure projects are planned and constructed effectively.

The role requires AutoCAD drafting, EI certification with potential PE, strong MS Office skills, and the ability to travel out of state up to 50%.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of industry-specific experience.
• Experience with construction drafting in AutoCAD.
• EI certification with ability to obtain a PE license preferred.
• Advanced Microsoft Office knowledge preferred.
• Experience with a programming language (VBA, C#, etc.) preferred.
• Experience with cloud-based platforms (Pro-Core, E-Builder, iAuditor, etc.) preferred.
• Ability to travel out of state up to 50% of the time.

Responsibilities

• Conducts on-site visits and assessments to understand project scope and requirements.
• Determines scope and designs HVAC restoration solutions via site visits and coordination with staff.
• Understands components and functions of existing mechanical systems being altered.
• Drives design and production tasks to enable restoration projects.
• Drafts construction documents and generates specifications for HVAC restoration projects.
• Uses in-house estimating tools to create project budgets.
• Assists the sales team with scope reviews and support as needed.
• Creates, maintains, and improves drafting tools and templates.
• Calculates estimated costs for labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractors.
• Ensures smooth transition from design to project execution with technical guidance.
