Southern Air, Inc. in Charlottesville, VA is seeking a Residential HVAC Technician to install, maintain and service heating and cooling systems for homeowners.

You’ll diagnose issues, read schematics, and deliver excellent customer experiences while working in residential environments. Compensation ranges from $22 to $45 per hour with benefits including ESOP, 401(k) with match, medical, dental, vision, disability, life insurance, PTO, EAP, and company vehicle.

Qualifications

• 1 to 5 years of HVAC service or installation experience, or equivalent training and education.
• EPA or CFC Certification required.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Pay Range: $22-$45/ per hour

What You’ll Do

As a Residential HVAC Technician, you will install, maintain, and service heating and cooling systems while delivering excellent customer experiences.

Key responsibilities include:

• Install and maintain residential HVAC systems including hydronic, steam, forced hot air, and heat pump systems
• Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment issues efficiently and accurately
• Read and interpret schematics and technical diagrams
• Perform preventive maintenance to ensure optimal system performance
• Maintain high standards of workmanship, safety, and professionalism

What We’re Looking For

• 1 to 5 years of HVAC service or installation experience, or equivalent training and education
• Strong troubleshooting, diagnostic, and repair skills
• EPA or CFC Certification required
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong communication and documentation skills
• Valid driver’s license and ability to pass pre‑employment screening, including drug screen and background checks as required

• Occasional driving between service locations
• Exposure to common construction materials and HVAC equipment
