Job summary

Rice Heating seeks a skilled HVAC service technician to diagnose, repair and install HVAC equipment at residential and small commercial sites. You will meet clients on-site, communicate cost estimates clearly, and ensure safety and efficiency of systems.

Requirements include state/local HVAC licenses and EPA 608 certification, 1+ year experience, and a high school diploma or GED. A valid driver’s license and ability to lift 50 lbs are needed. Compensation is competitive hourly wages.

Responsibilities: • Quote customers for the costs of HVAC repairs, replacements, and services • Test newly installed components to ensure proper function • Understand and employ electrical schematics, diagrams, blueprints, and wiring diagrams • Conduct residential and commercial maintenance and installation of equipment • Keep record of completed projects and the parts used What You’ll Do Day-to-Day In this role, you’ll be the expert customers rely on to keep their systems running safely and efficiently: • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair HVAC systems in residential and light commercial settings • Perform preventative maintenance and warranty service calls • Read and apply electrical schematics and wiring diagrams • Install and replace HVAC components • Provide clear, honest explanations and cost estimates to customers for repairs • Maintain accurate records of completed work and materials used • Deliver a professional, customer-first experience on every job Qualifications: • Must have required state and local HVAC technician licenses • EPA 608 refrigerant recovery certification required • The candidate must have excellent problem-solving and communication skills, and a can-do attitude • Attended HVAC school for degree or has a minimum of 1+ years experience in the field as an HVAC helper or equivalent • We require candidates have a high school diploma or GED What We’re Looking For We’re looking for someone who not only has the technical skills, but also takes pride in their work and how they treat customers: • At least 2 years of HVAC experience • Strong diagnostic and problem-solving abilities • Ability to clearly communicate technical information to customers • High school diploma or equivalent • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record • Ability to lift 50 lbs (100 lbs with assistance) • Must pass a drug screening • Authorized to work in the U.S. Compensation: $35 - $40 hourly
