Franklin & Marshall College is recruiting for afull-timeHVAC/Refrigeration Technician. Location: F&M Campus - Lancaster, PA. Schedule: 40 hours, Monday - Friday. Reports to: Acting AVP of Facilities. Approved salary up to $52,000.00.

The HVAC Refrigeration Technician will install, repair, and perform preventive maintenance on HVAC and refrigeration equipment. You will ensure safe, effective, timely service and excellent customer support for the F&M community.

Qualifications

• Technical training or degree (Applied trades training) is required.
• At least 3 years of experience installing, maintaining, and/or repairing HVAC and refrigeration systems.
• Refrigerant Certification, Level I and II, is required.
• Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to pass background checks.

Responsibilities

• Install, repair, and perform preventive maintenance on HVAC and refrigeration equipment.
• Inspect HVAC systems daily and coordinate work by outside contractors as needed.
• Monitor energy management systems and assist design/installation of new systems.
• Perform on-call duties and support college events as required.

Job Description:

The HVAC Refrigeration Technician will install, repair, and perform preventive maintenance work on HVAC and refrigeration equipment on College properties. The HVAC Refrigeration Technician will ensure that support is performed in a safe, effective, timely and professional manner while striving to provide excellent customer service to all members of the F&M Community.

Essential Functions:

• Perform preventive maintenance on equipment in College buildings to include pumps, motors, air compressors, temperature controls, filters, belts, refrigeration components, piping and boilers.
• Install, maintain, repair and troubleshoot all types of refrigeration and HVAC equipment.
• Inspect HVAC systems on a daily basis and take corrective action when a problem is identified. Coordinate and inspect any work performed by outside contractors.
• Daily monitoring of operating systems using various computerized energy management systems.
• Assist project managers in the design, installation and troubleshooting of new or existing HVAC and refrigeration systems.
• Perform on-call duties throughout the year. Assist Special Work Assignment Team with College events. Assist grounds crew with snow removal.
• All other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications:

• Technical training or degree (Applied trades training).
• At least 3 years of experience installing, maintaining and/or repairing HVAC and refrigeration systems.
• Refrigerant Certification, minimum Level I and Level II.
• Excellent oral, written, interpersonal communication skills.
• Evidence of a commitment to community & belonging.
• Valid driver's license.
• Successful interview.
• Successful completion of background checks.

Additional Information:
