McDaniel College seeks a Building Maintenance Mechanic-Lead HVAC/R Technician to maintain and repair HVACR systems across campus. The role includes supervising staff, developing preventive maintenance plans, and ensuring safe operation of all heating, ventilation, and air conditioning equipment.
The ideal candidate has 3–5 years of commercial/residential HVACR experience, valid Maryland licenses, and the ability to respond during emergencies and weather events.

This position has a budgeted hiring rate of $45.00/hr. The position is classified as a S7. The S7 salary band for all full-time, 12-month positions at the college with this classification have a minimum rate of $25/hr and a maximum rate of $47.50/hr.

This is a hands‑on position responsible for the maintenance and repair of all College heating, ventilating, air conditioning, refrigeration (HVAC), air quality equipment (including energy recovery make‑up, exhausted air systems, and laboratory vent/chemical storage hoods). Performs duties that may be outside of the HVAC trade to support priorities of the Physical Plant. This position is classified as essential meaning employee must report when college is closed. Occasional overtime and on‑call responsibilities is required.
