Job summary

Alpine School District is seeking an HVAC Climate Control Equipment Mechanic to provide energy management services by identifying repair and replacement needs, monitoring, programming, and maintaining energy systems such as heating, air conditioning, and refrigeration. This position will support energy management operations and assist other skilled trades on site.

Starting date is August 17, 2026 with a contract through June 30, 2027, working 8 hours per day.

Responsibilities

• Collaborates with administration and other trades for the purpose of completing projects and work orders efficiently.
• Diagnoses cause of problems and/or failures in energy systems for the purpose of identifying equipment and/or systems repair and/or replacement needs.
• Installs heating/air conditioning/refrigeration equipment and systems for the purpose of providing enhanced and/or upgraded climate control capabilities.
• Maintains a variety of files and records for the purpose of providing an up-to-date reference.
• Monitors utility billings for the purpose of recommending methods of cost containment.
• Prepares written materials (e.g. repair status, activity logs, etc.) for the purpose of documenting activities and/or conveying information.
• Programs energy management systems for the purpose of adjusting the programs for maximum efficiency.
• Repairs heating/air conditioning systems and components for the purpose of ensuring a safe working condition.
• Transports a variety of tools, equipment and supplies for the purpose of ensuring the availability of materials required at job site.
