Job summary

Covenant Health seeks an HVAC/Facilities Technician to install, service, inspect, operate and repair environmental-control systems and refrigeration across the facility. You will handle preventive maintenance, chiller plant startups, and coordination with vendors and the Director on bids.

Ideal candidates have 2+ years boiler experience and knowledge of Siemens/Trane systems, with strong math, reading blueprints, and English-language skills. This full-time role is based in San Diego, CA.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required or equivalent.
• 2-year vocational/technical program with math, physics, blueprint reading, and mechanical drawing.
• EPA Certification preferred.
• Med Gas 6040 Certification preferred.
• Driver's license (Maine) required.
• 1–3 years boiler experience.
• Experience with Siemens and Trane Building Management Systems preferred.
• 6 years on-the-job training may substitute formal education.
• Working knowledge of HVAC theory, pipe-fitting, and related controls.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive and routine maintenance on HVAC systems across the campus and buildings.
• Startup/shutdown of central chiller plants including various cooling towers up to 600 tons.
• Oversee HVAC planning for new work ensuring compatibility with existing systems.
• Manage chemical protection of systems open and closed circuits.
