Job summary

Slippery Rock University is seeking a HVAC Refrigeration Maintenance Mechanic to perform routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on HVAC and refrigeration systems on main campus. You will respond to work orders, troubleshoot, and adjust equipment to maintain optimal operation.

The role requires adherence to safety standards and collaboration with Facilities Operations staff. Two years of HVAC/refrigeration experience, or a related training path, plus the ability to work variable shifts

Qualifications

• Two years of experience in maintenance, repair, or installation of HVAC or refrigeration systems.
• Completion of a three-year Vo-Tech training program in refrigeration, HVAC, or building automation with six months experience.
• Equivalent combination of experience and training including one year in HVAC or refrigeration equipment.
• Successful campus interview and criminal background check required.

Responsibilities

• Preventative maintenance on HVAC systems, including changing air filters and cleaning coils, condensers, and evaporators.
• Maintenance on furnaces, boilers, and unit heaters; check for leaks and clean filters and strainers.
• Inspect, clean, lubricate, and maintain compressors, air stations, dryers, traps, valves, pumps, fans, and motors.
• Service, maintain, and repair air handling equipment for single and multiple zones.
• Read blueprints and use BAS to perform maintenance tasks.
• Respond to corrective maintenance work orders and troubleshoot equipment.
• All other duties as assigned.
