HVAC/R Technician
Location: Remote (US-based, with frequent travel)
Compensation: $60,000–$100,000 + 0.05%–0.1% equity
Additional Compensation: Travel stipends and emergency service bonuses

About the Role
GlacierGrid is looking for a hands-on HVAC/R Technician to lead hardware installations, support product development, and scale our technician network. In this role, you'll install smart monitoring hardware at quick-service restaurants (QSRs), convenience stores, and similar commercial locations across the U.S. Expect to travel up to 75% of the time each month. You'll also collaborate closely with our Engineering, Product, and Customer teams to troubleshoot field challenges and help evolve our technology offerings.

What You'll Do

  • Install GlacierGrid hardware on commercial HVAC/R systems at QSRs, convenience stores, and similar locations

  • Travel to installation sites across the U.S. (approximately 75% travel required monthly)

  • Set up and configure IoT connectivity solutions (e.g., WiFi networks, gateways)

  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues during or after installs

  • Contribute to R&D efforts by providing field insights and feedback

  • Vet, train, and support a network of third-party technicians

  • Coordinate with internal teams to ensure project execution and customer satisfaction

  • Maintain clear documentation and communication for all field activities

About You

  • 5+ years of experience as a full-time HVAC/R technician (commercial experience )

  • Skilled at installing and configuring control systems on HVAC/R equipment

  • Comfortable with IoT and network configuration in the field

  • Strong communicator with the ability to train others on standardized processes

  • Highly organized, self-motivated, and responsive under dynamic schedules

  • Creative problem-solver with a hands-on mindset and curiosity for new technology

  • Willing and able to travel extensively throughout the U.S. each month (up to 75%)
