Job summary

Jobot is seeking a dynamic HVAC/R Engineer to join our high-performing production team in Oakland, CA. This role focuses on the design, development, and production of commercial refrigeration systems within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

You'll apply 3D/2D CAD using SolidWorks and Creo, perform thermal analyses and component selection, ensure UL compliance, and collaborate across engineering and production to optimize performance and reliability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field; not a building maintenance role.
• 2 to 7 years of experience in a production/manufacturing-focused role.
• Proficient in 3D and 2D CAD, SolidWorks, and Creo.
• Extensive experience in Controls Integration, Design Validation, and HVAC/R systems.
• Solid understanding of refrigerants and refrigerant system design.
• Experience in thermal analysis, heat load calculations, and compressor selection.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and test mechanical refrigeration components, equipment, and machinery.
• Apply engineering principles to design refrigerators, air conditioners, and related systems.
• Conduct thermal analysis, heat load calculations, and compressor selection.
• Ensure designs comply with UL and other regulations.
• Use 2D/3D CAD to create blueprints and schematics.
• Collaborate with engineers to improve product functionality and efficiency.
• Troubleshoot refrigeration systems and provide production support.
• Stay updated with refrigeration advances and integrate findings.
