Job summary

Copeland in Sidney, OH, is hiring a 3rd shift HVAC/R technician to work in conjunction with product and research engineers to design, develop, and qualify compressors for HVACR systems.

The role is on-site with overtime, requiring a high school diploma plus 2–3 years of related experience, basic mechanical/HVAC/electrical skills, troubleshooting ability, and PC proficiency. Sponsorship is not provided.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with 2–3 years of related experience in HVAC/R or mechanical fields.
• Basic mechanical, HVAC and electrical/electronic skills required.
• Troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities; PC skills with Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Follow lab test instructions and perform tests on variable-speed compressors.
• Set up and install compressors and related electronics for testing.
• Operate lab equipment and data acquisition systems to capture performance data.
• Set up variable-speed drives for testing and fabricate test fixtures.
• Review test data for standards compliance and assist in lab upkeep.
• Communicate test results to engineers and suggest process improvements.
